Managing Intellectual Property's World IP Survey 2011

In February 2011 Potter Clarkson LLP was ranked in the highest tier of UK patent firms in MIP's World IP Survey 2011 and awarded the title of UK Patent Prosecution Firm of the Year.

The results of MIP's annual research are detailed rankings of the leading firms practising intellectual property in each country. The leading UK firms are presented in the form of 34 firms split into five tiers; those in the top tiers received the most recommendations for the quality and depth of their practice. The survey reveals which firms are rated by their peers for the strength of their expertise and the depth of their ability to service clients.
In its 2010 survey MIP stated:

"Of the provincial attorney firms, Potter Clarkson is the clear leader for patent work.... One client praised the firm for its personal approach: "They make you feel like you're on their radar and that you are important to them. I feel safe and secure acting on their advice."

Chambers UK 2011

Chambers UK guide to the legal profession 2011 has recommended Potter Clarkson LLP for its patent and trade mark work. The guide stated:

"This Nottingham firm is popular with clients due to its "technically skilled attorneys who are prompt, communicative and clear in their advice..."Chambers UK also ranked biotech patent partner Philip Thomas as a leading individual, stating that he: "understands both the scientific and the business aspects of what we're trying to do and comes up with brilliant ideas," according to one interviewee."

Legal 500 UK 2010

Potter Clarkson has been recommended for its patent and trade mark work in the Legal 500 UK guide 2010. The guide stated:
