Potter Clarkson shortlisted (again) for UK Patent Prosecution Firm of the Year award

Potter Clarkson LLP is delighted to announce that it has again been shortlisted for the prestigious award of UK Patent Prosecution Firm of the Year by Managing Intellectual Property (MIP), following its global IP survey. The winner of the award will be announced at a prize ceremony in London in April.

The firm won the UK award in 2011 and was shortlisted again in 2012. The firm also retained its top tier ranking in the survey results announced earlier.

Biotechnology YES Finals 2012

Jane Wainwright acted as judge in the Grand Final of the annual Biotechnology YES Business Plan competition. The winners of the overall competition were Calvitium Solutions, for their business plan regarding a hair loss product. Potter Clarkson sponsored the Best IP Strategy prize for the competition and Jane was pleased to award the prize to a University of Manchester based team, Enzomax.

New offices for Potter Clarkson

Sometime in 2012, Potter Clarkson will move offices to a building known as the Belgrave Centre.

The latter is, like our current offices, located in Nottingham city centre but it is about twice as large as our current premises, and will therefore allow for our planned growth for the foreseeable future. It will also allow us to have all our people under one roof, whereas at present we are split between three (albeit adjoining) buildings.

Potter Clarkson candidate wins Moss Prize (again)
We are pleased to announce that Jason Teng has won the 2010 Moss Prize for the candidate awarded the highest combined marks total in the UK and overseas patent law papers. Potter Clarkson have a proud tradition of success in the UK patent examinations. In eight of the years since 1997 a candidate from Potter Clarkson has won the Moss Prize and in one of the other years there was no Potter Clarkson candidate. Many congratulations go to Jason for this achievement.

Michael Pears wins the prize for T5
We are pleased to announce that Michael Pears has won the Peter FitzGibbon Memorial Award for the candidate awarded the highest mark in the Basic Overseas Trade Mark Law and Practice Paper (T5) as part of his UK qualifying exams.
