Chris has experience across all areas of patent law, from patent drafting and prosecution to oppositions.

His main passion is building strategies for enabling businesses, whether large or small, to make the most of their intellectual property and to ensure at every stage that their intellectual property is complementing their business goals to its full potential.  

Chris joined Potter Clarkson in 2014 and became a senior associate in 2019. He was first based in the Nottingham office, and since 2018 he has been in the Stockholm office providing advice to clients across the Nordic region, with the majority of the companies he advises in Sweden and Denmark. 

Chris’s research career was highly interdisciplinary and this has carried over into his patent career as he specialises in a number of interrelated fields across the chemistry, materials science and medtech sectors.

Education

After reading chemistry at Bangor University, Chris obtained a PhD from the University of Manchester where his research was focused around the development of synthetic routes to develop novel stimulus responsive nanoparticles, in particular metal oxide nanoparticles, for biomedical applications.
