Andy read applied microbiology at the University of Nottingham, before teaching secondary-level science overseas. Upon returning to the UK he undertook a PhD in Molecular Microbiology at the Institute of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation (University of Nottingham). During his doctorate, Andy was seconded to the Department of Molecular Biology of Umeå University, Sweden for several months. His research concerned the identification of a bacterial RNA-binding protein and its cognate regulatory RNA's, along with exploration of their role in density-dependent gene regulation.
Andy joined Potter Clarkson in 2006 and specialises in biotechnology and biomedical patenting matters.
