Trade Mark Team Expansion
29 January 2018
The firm has expanded its trade mark department with five newly-qualified individuals, following a year of record growth for the team and for the firm as a whole.
Harrison Lee, who joined the team in 2015, has qualified as a UK chartered trade mark attorney, while Sobia Ramzan, Sue Faulconbridge and Wendy Brooks have qualified as CITMA paralegals, further enhancing the team’s expertise.
This follows a “stellar” year for the firm’s trade mark credentials, with a successful outcome delivered for all inter-partes cases heard before the UKIPO, the Appointed Person and the High Court during 2017 – including protecting the rights of the trade mark-owning companies of the estates of Elvis Presley and the late rock star, Prince.
Managing partner and chairman Colin Baker, said: “This has been a record year for the trade mark team in terms of growth, with an increasing client portfolio across all sectors and an upturn in cases, in which the team has enjoyed a winning streak across the board.
“We are proud of our first-class trade mark offering, which is evidenced in the quality of work being delivered for leading brands, as well as the multiple plaudits the team has received during the past year. This additional expertise brings further strength and capacity to the trade mark team for the benefit of our clients and we are delighted to support our people in developing their careers at Potter Clarkson.”
