Tom brings a strong academic background in biochemistry to the Potter Clarkson team, having studied the topic at both undergraduate and post-graduate level.

Following the completion of his PhD - which focused on the dietary constituent, nitrate, and its role in the control of oxygen delivery to tissues and subsequent use - Tom worked in the department of biochemistry at the University of Cambridge as a post-doctoral research associate.  

Here, his project involved investigating the metabolic basis of obesity and diabetes and involved the use of mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography, cell culture systems and molecular biology. 

Tom joined Potter Clarkson in August 2018 and works in the biotechnology and pharmaceuticals team.

Education

Tom studied biochemistry at the University of Nottingham and graduated with a first-class honours degree. He subsequently attended the University of Cambridge, gaining an MPhil and PhD in biochemistry and physiology.

In his spare time, Tom enjoys driving, reading, walking and playing piano and guitar.
