Specialising in non-contentious intellectual property work, and with over 30 years’ experience, Mark is well-recognised as an expert in the field of IP law.
Acting for clients across many different sectors, much of Mark’s recent work has been in the biotech and healthcare, manufacturing and fashion sectors, where he has worked for a number of luxury goods brands and fashion labels.
Mark provides clients with expert advice on a variety of work, which encompasses, amongst other things, advice upon, and the negotiation of, a wide range of IP related commercial agreements including collaboration agreements and licences of patents and other IPRs. Mark also advises upon the ownership of IPRs, including those arising in an employment context, as well as providing strategic advice on protection and exploitation. Mark also provides clients with advice on, and the drafting of IP policies.
In addition to his specialism in non-contentious matters, Mark has a wealth of experience in dealing with IP-related disputes and calls upon this experience when advising on commercial agreements as well as possible infringement situations.
Having studied law at the University of Southampton, Mark qualified as a solicitor in 1985. From his position of Partner at a national law firm, Mark joined Potter Clarkson in August 2017 and further strengthens the Dispute Resolution and Commercial team; one of the largest of its type in the UK.
Recognised in his field, Mark is named as a leading East Midlands individual for IP in the Legal 500 directory.
