Rob studied Biology at the University of Nottingham, gaining a first-class degree in 2015.  His final-year project aimed to explore the role of an uncharacterised genome neighbourhood in the regulation of homologous recombination in the halophilic archaeon, Haloferax volcanii.
Following his undergraduate studies, Rob undertook a PhD in microbiology at the University of Nottingham, where he worked towards an understanding of the molecular pathogenesis of Adherent-Invasive Escherichia coli, and its role in the onset of Crohn’s Disease.
