CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Doing the right thing is embedded in our values, and we take our role in the communities in which we operate very seriously. We are always looking for ways to use our resources and insight to support our people, the IP profession and important projects.

LEADING THE IP PROFESSION

We play an active role in our industry bodies, with members of our team contributing to the important work of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA), the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA), and the profession’s mutual insurance company, PAMIA, as well as getting involved in sector-based industry organisations to raise awareness of how IP can fuel business growth.

We’re committed to supporting the next generation of our profession and have close links with local schools as well as universities across Europe, with many of our attorneys giving guest lectures and providing career advice to students.

The firm also undertakes appropriate pro bono work.

CHARITY AND HELPING OUR COMMUNITIES

Each year we lend our support to a number of local charities across our communities, holding fundraising events and encouraging our staff to participate in these important projects by giving everyone a paid volunteering day. The firm has created a charity fund to sponsor anyone in our team putting in notable endeavour for a charitable cause, including marathons, abseiling challenges and charity runs.

ENVIRONMENT

Accredited with ISO14001 for environmental management, the firm has an Environmental Committee and is always looking for ways to play its part in this vital global issue, whether that be through recycling, energy saving, reducing our carbon footprint or encouraging our people to cycle to work through all applicable support measures.

CHAMPIONING ENTERPRISE AND INNOVATION

We have built strong links with key business groups, such as the Chamber of Commerce, Institute of Directors, Cambridge Capital Group (CCG), London Tech Advocates, Medicon Valley Alliance, Danish Food Cluster and Medicon Village Science Park. We also offer free use of our office facilities to foster closer links within our local business communities.

We regularly get involved in innovation days and initiatives such as Biotechnology YES, Medilink, Pitchfest, European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), and the Karolinksa Institutet Bioentrepreneurship program, providing pro bono advice and practical tips to inventors and embryonic businesses.

COMMITTED TO GOOD CORPORATE GOVERNANCE

We are one of only a handful of IP firms to carry three ISO standards, reflecting our continual drive for improvement. The standards, namely ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO27001, achieved in 2015, provide clients with an assurance of excellence in the areas of quality management, environmental management, and information security management. In 2019 we achieved the “We invest in people” Silver accreditation which independently demonstrates our commitment to everyone in our firm.

MODERN SLAVERY STATEMENT

We are deeply committed to being a visibly responsible firm while addressing our own statutory obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015. Our Modern Slavery statement can be viewed here.
