Hannah Kite
Hannah specialises in securing and defending pharmaceutical patents globally. She is experienced in drafting and prosecuting later-stage cases that support exclusivity for drug products. She also has substantial litigation experience, having successfully defended patents in multi-party opposition proceedings and enforced them in global litigation.
Hannah focuses on the pharmaceutical sector and has worked on numerous marketed drug products, including high-profile defences for some of the world’s most valuable medicines. Her experience includes defending patents in European Patent Office (EPO) oppositions involving large numbers of opponents, including a record 20-opponent EPO opposition. She is particularly skilled in prosecuting and defending cases involving clinical trial disclosures and is regularly involved in the European side of complex international disputes.
When not engaged in contentious work or prosecuting cases, Hannah draws on her experience to provide clients with practical intellectual property (IP) advice, including freedom to operate (FTO) and transactional support such as due diligence.
She is passionate about helping clients bring innovative medicines to market with robust protection, free from competitor patents. She also has a strong interest in regulatory exclusivity provisions and how they interact with IP.
Before entering the profession, Hannah earned a first-class master’s degree in chemistry. She previously worked for the world’s largest chemical company, where she developed award-winning clean polymer technology.

How We Live Our Values: Excellence
Protecting innovation demands clarity, accuracy, and attention to detail in every aspect of communication and documentation. This is essential when supporting clients and their innovations, particularly as they look to bring new products to market. My approach allows me to give advice that’s precise and effective, so clients can navigate complex patent landscapes with confidence.
In My Own Words
The most rewarding aspect of my job is helping clients bring their innovative medicines to market. Recently, I was working with another attorney whose family member had taken part in a clinical trial run by my client. The trial was aimed at treating a rare disease with no known cure. Seeing the difference these medicines can make to people’s lives is incredibly fulfilling.
