BSc (Hons), PhD, Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry, CPA, EPA.
Chris has experience across all areas of patent work, particularly in EPO prosecution, opposition and appeals.
After reading Chemistry at Bangor University, Chris obtained a PhD from the University of Manchester, where his research was focused around the development of synthetic routes to develop novel stimulus responsive nanoparticles, in particular metal oxide nanoparticles, for biomedical applications. Following his PhD, he was awarded an EPSRC fellowship to study the change in the band-gap of titania nanoparticles when doping with various lanthanides.
Chris’s research career was highly interdisciplinary and this has carried over into his patent career as he specialises in a number of interrelated fields across the chemistry, materials science and medtech sectors. His particular areas of expertise include nanomaterials, metallurgy, polymers, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and materials chemistry.
Chris joined Potter Clarkson’s Nottingham office in April 2014 and since October 2018 he has been located in Potter Clarkson's Stockholm office providing advice to clients across the Nordic region.
