Rob is a patent attorney in the fields of life sciences, medical and chemical technologies, with extensive experience coordinating worldwide patent strategies, providing freedom-to-operate opinions and handling EPO oppositions, both written procedure and oral advocacy.
Rob has used his chemical background in work relating to (fluorocarbon) chemical process technology, cosmetic formulations, enzyme technology, pharmaceutical compositions and polymer blends. He also handles medical device and refrigeration technology work.
Following his Chemistry degree and PhD at Bristol University (1994 – 2000), Rob worked at Shell International in Amsterdam as a Marie Curie Research Fellow (2000 – 2002). Through his work at Shell and elsewhere, Rob is an author of several academic papers, an inventor on several patents, and he has contributed to a textbook, all in the fields of homogeneous catalysis and polymerisation catalysis.
Following his academic and industrial careers, Rob joined Potter Clarkson in 2003 and became a Partner in 2011.
