It goes without saying that university research is a critical contributor to the progress of science. However, a common question that arises from time to time is whether said university research is at risk of patent infringement.
Although research exemption laws exist to address this issue, there is relatively little practical experience about these laws that would provide greater certainty to knowledge transfer office professionals.
