Jason Teng

Partner - Patent Attorney

Jason works across a wide range of design and engineering subject matter, with particular expertise in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications before the UK Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO) and European Patent Office (EPO), as well as other national patent offices.

Jason is part of the firm's Asian business development committee, with a focus on China, South Korea and Japan amongst others. He regularly attends IP seminars and business networking events throughout the UK to meet others with interest in developing business relations between Asia and the UK. 

Prior to joining Potter Clarkson, Jason worked as a postdoctoral research associate in a department of trade and industry/technology strategy board funded project to develop microfluidic flow sensors for a high-throughput micro liquid analyser system.

Education

Jason obtained a first-class honours degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Birmingham, before going on to achieve a PhD in mechanical engineering from the same institution.

Awards & Recognition

Jason was awarded the Moss Prize in 2010 for obtaining the highest overall mark in the foundation level patent examination papers. 

Interests

In his spare time, Jason enjoys trying new food places and armchair sport spectating.
