Potter Clarkson recognised as 'effective, efficient and easy to do business with' in WTR 1000

Potter Clarkson is delighted to feature in the 2022 edition of WTR 1000: The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals - the definitive ‘go-to’ resource for those seeking world-class legal trade mark expertise.

On top of this great achievement, Emmy Hunt, Sanjay Kapur, Jesper Sellin, Sarah Talland and Chris Baume have been named individually.

The UK ranking states:

“Potter Clarkson is effective, efficient and easy to do business with. The firm is always quick to respond, comes up with creative suggestions and is trustworthy and solutions oriented. Its approach strikes the perfect balance between excellent technical knowledge and commercially focused advice.” Its 15 qualified trademark attorneys - six of whom are partners - go above and beyond for its clients, eschewing mere trademark protection in favour of maximum brand exploitation. The firm has been ringing the changes of late: its savvy response to Brexit has enabled it to onboard 12,000 new UK records; it has introduced cutting-edge products through its new IP consultancy division; and in 2020 it underwent a rebrand of its own, demonstrating its forward-thinking outlook. Setting the standard is Sanjay Kapur, whose history at the firm began 31 years ago and was interrupted only by a brief but hugely valuable two years as trademark manager at Unilever. He is joined in the rankings by Chris Baume, Emmy Hunt and Sarah Talland. Baume and Hunt have each been on the scene for about a decade now and both are experts at brand strategy and portfolio management; Hunt has also recently been handling a series of oppositions for the Elvis Presley Estate in relation to BrewDog’s Elvis Juice beer. Talland enters the WTR 1000 this year thanks to rave reviews from clients, who hail her as “effective, efficient and easy to do business with”.

For Sweden, Jesper Sellin is named under Enforcement and Litigation as well as under Prosecution and Strategy.
