How We Live Our Values: Excellence
I believe in excellence - good enough is simply not enough.
I also believe excellence can only be achieved through teamwork, open communication and a genuine commitment to diversity. By diversity, I do not just mean different academic or professional backgrounds, but also the cultural experiences, perspectives and individual qualities that make us unique.
These differences help us think differently, spot what others may overlook and support one another in areas that come naturally to some but are more challenging for others. Recognising and valuing those differences is, in my view, essential to achieving excellence as a team.
In My Own Words
Over 10 years ago, I was approached by an agency about an IP Protection Analyst role that I didn't think I was qualified for. At the time, I was based in Cambridge, working in the gaming industry, where I also felt like an imposter because I had never been a gamer myself. I decided to give it a shot - and loved it.
I realised I was doing something meaningful by supporting brands and creators who invest so much time and effort into building their reputation, only to see it exploited by bad actors involved in counterfeiting, piracy and scams.
Today, my role is to help brand and content owners maximise the value of their IP by making strategic use of technology, data and resources to deliver both short-term risk mitigation and long-term brand equity.
