Giulia Avellino
Giulia focuses on advanced in vitro models, including organoids, stem cell-derived systems and human-relevant disease models, alongside areas such as oncology, immunology and biochemistry. She supports clients from start-ups to global pharma with intellectual property (IP) development and prosecution, building on her research experience and a strong interest in translating biology into practical applications.
Giulia works on a range of IP matters, focusing on drafting patent applications and preparing responses to examination reports. She supports clients through prosecution, helping to progress applications across different jurisdictions.
With a PhD from the University of Cambridge, Giulia’s research explored the interplay between human metabolism and epigenetics. She subsequently undertook postdoctoral research, further developing her expertise in complex biological models. This background supports her work in patent drafting and prosecution, particularly across stem cell technologies, disease models and biologics.
