Tom Harding

Tom is an experienced European and UK qualified patent attorney specialising in the life sciences field.

He co-ordinates patent strategies across the world including drafting, prosecution and third-party issues, whilst providing commercially relevant advice tailored to the needs and commercial goals of each client, be they a university, SME or multinational corporation.

Tom has particular experience of obtaining patent protection in antibody technology and therapeutics/diagnostics, nucleic acid technology, disease biomarkers, drug screening and simple medical devices. He has also been involved in several patent oppositions in the same subject areas.  

Prior to joining Potter Clarkson in 2009, Tom spent four years as a research scientist in oncology bioscience at AstraZeneca, and he has been actively involved in the Biotechnology YES competitions, acting as a judge or an IP mentor to students for the last eight years.
