Ben has particular expertise in the fields of telecommunications, virtual reality, semiconductors, user interfaces, audio-visual technology and electrical grid systems. Ben has also worked with companies in the fields of green technology, plastics engineering, automotive components, fuel cells, water supply and metering. He has also prosecuted patent applications relating to industrial networking, computer programs, medical equipment and control systems for manufacturing. Ben has drafted hundreds of patent applications in these technological areas and has wide experience representing clients at hearings before the EPO and UKIPO, in the preparation of validity and infringement opinions, the restoration of patent rights and attacking and defending patents during the EPO opposition procedure.
Ben read Physics with Computing at the University of Warwick.
Before joining Potter Clarkson in January 2013, Ben worked for a large private practice firm in Birmingham. During his time there he was seconded to Ericsson to work with their in-house department on optical networks and other networking technology. Ben joined the electronics and computing team at Potter Clarkson and was made a Partner in 2015.
Ben enjoys exploring the world and spending time with his young family.
