BA (Hons), Chartered UK and European Trade Mark Attorney; Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys; Member of ECTA and MARQUES.

Sanjay obtained an honours degree in Business Studies from Wolverhampton University in 1989. He joined Potter Clarkson in 1990 and qualified as a Registered Trade Mark Attorney in 1993.

In 1995 Sanjay left the firm to take up an appointment as Trade Marks Manager in the Corporate Trade Marks Department of Unilever plc. He rejoined Potter Clarkson in 1997 and became a partner in 1998.

Sanjay was elected on to The Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA) Council in March 2009 and served on Council until 2013. He was the Chair of CITMA's Education and Training Committee from April 2010 to July 2013 and successfully managed the introduction of the University based examination system for Trade Mark Attorney qualification in the UK. Sanjay is currently a co-opted member of the Education and Training Committee.

Sanjay was elected as a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys in 2013.

Sanjay acts for a wide range of clients in all market sectors. He has lectured and presented papers in the UK and abroad and on behalf of the firm, CITMA and WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organisation). He regularly lectures to students seeking to qualify as a trade mark attorney.

Sanjay is listed as an IP Star by Managing Intellectual Property for 2017 and was also awarded this accolade in 2016.
