Partner & Board Member - Patent Attorney

As a key member of the designs and engineering group, Caroline deals with patent and design matters encompassing a number of disciplines with particular expertise in the textiles area, where she leads several of our key client teams.

As well as extensive experience of prosecuting UK and European patent applications and representing clients in hearings before the European Patent Office, Caroline has been involved in litigation in the UK, Canada and Australia, and has considerable expertise in patent and design ownership and licence recordal issues. 

Prior to joining Potter Clarkson in 1999, Caroline worked at the UK Patent Office (now the UKIPO) as a patent examiner, handling applications in the areas of textile technologies, downhole mining and oilfield equipment and optical devices.  

Caroline became a partner in 2010.

Logistics, power distribution, automotive engineering, mining equipment and medical devices. She has continued to develop expertise in textile technologies.

Education

Caroline read physics at Loughborough University. In 2012 she gained an LLM master's degree in intellectual property litigation from Nottingham Law School and has since been awarded a Higher Courts Litigation Certificate.
