Darren is an experienced UK and European patent attorney adept at handling a wide array of engineering inventions, ranging from automotive transmissions to hand tools, medical devices and high voltage power distribution systems. In addition, Darren has a deep understanding of textile technologies, including in relation to both performance and intimate apparel.
As well as advising clients on design matters, both registered and unregistered, Darren also tutors trainee attorneys on these aspects of intellectual property law, both within the firm and externally.
In advance of joining Potter Clarkson in 2002, Darren was a design engineer with a leading product design consultancy in London.
In 2012, he successfully completed the Intellectual Property litigation and advocacy courses at Nottingham Law School to become a patent attorney litigator with extensive rights of audience in the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court (IPEC), as well as rights to conduct some litigation and appeals in the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.
Darren leads the firm’s USA team, having spent more than a decade forging strong and trusted professional relationships in this jurisdiction.
