How We Live Our Values: Collaboration
Collaboration is central to how I work and to what the role requires. I want the team to focus on what they do best, and I’ll play my part to make that possible. Whether it’s organising something last minute or stepping in to help with a task, I take pride in working alongside my colleagues to get things done to a high standard. I like being someone the team can rely on, and I’m always happy to offer guidance whenever I can.
In My Own Words
When I joined Potter Clarkson, the litigation and licensing team was just being set up, and it was a completely new challenge for me. I’d supported legal teams before, but this was different. Things are always changing, and no two days are the same. That’s what I’ve come to enjoy most about it. We’ve built a team that works well together and respects each other.
In the past few years, I’ve also become closely involved in the work we do with the University of Nottingham. We offer a prize each year to the top two students in the LLB course, which includes a week of work experience with our team. I help with everything from representing the team at the awards ceremony to coordinating their placements. It’s a great way to give students a sense of what working with our team is really like, and it’s rewarding to be part of something that helps the next generation get their start.
