How We Live Our Values: Excellence
My favourite aspect of the role is learning about our clients’ businesses. To provide holistic advice, I believe it is essential to understand the client, their future goals and the marketplace they operate in. This approach often reveals valuable unprotected IP rights that may not have been previously considered by the client. For me, excellence means using that understanding to give the best advice and to help clients get more from their IP.
In My Own Words
When I first joined the IP industry, I did not fully understand why I was drawn to it. Looking back, I realise it gave me the opportunity to apply the skills I developed during my academic career, including dealing with complex ideas, problems and arguments, to provide value for my colleagues and clients while working with ideas that have a clear, tangible role in the real world.
