Thomas is a trainee patent attorney with experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications. His broad exposure to different areas of physics during his degree, combined with his curious nature and creative approach to problem-solving, helps him support clients with their intellectual property (IP).

Thomas works with clients ranging from large multinational corporations to individual inventors. He spends most of his time drafting and prosecuting patent applications across a variety of technological sectors. This work is helping him build experience and familiarity with the worlds of technology, IP and the legal systems in place.

His interest in innovation began during his final year at university, when he designed a device to test a new type of computer memory then under development at the university. Being involved in the early stages of an invention further fuelled his passion for technology and progress.

How We Live Our Values: Excellence

I’m not afraid to ask questions if it helps me better understand our clients' technology or the legal frameworks in place. Especially as I am early in my career, I see this as a strength because it helps me build deeper knowledge and contribute more effectively to the quality of work we deliver for clients.

In My Own Words

I applied for this job because I felt it was the best way for me to get to see the latest innovative ideas, without being locked into any one particular technical field. I'm glad I did too, as this has absolutely been my experience.

I also loved playing 'spot the difference' when I was growing up, so I feel like this job is a perfect match for my skills and interests.

I can't wait to see what the future holds!
