How We Live Our Values: Collaboration
Collaboration is a key element of my work. I love being part of a team where everyone’s ideas and knowledge are valued. Even complex, contentious IP matters feel like a puzzle, with each person contributing a unique and essential piece to the case. Working in a mutually supportive, communicative environment makes every challenging task more rewarding when it’s complete.
In My Own Words
Ideas and inventions shape the world around us. During university, I found IP to be the subject that best combined law, science, innovation and commercial thinking. After some pro bono legal work and a vacation scheme at another IP firm, I knew I wanted a career in this field, where I could keep learning while protecting and supporting innovation.
Becoming a paralegal in Potter Clarkson’s litigation and licensing team has given me the opportunity to work alongside some of the best and most experienced IP professionals. Every day I learn something new and realise how much there is still to learn, which is both scary and exciting!
I really enjoy the sense of teamwork and support within the team. Even as a junior, I feel my contributions matter, and I’m eager to keep growing and developing my IP knowledge and experience in such a dynamic, ambitious and supportive environment.
