Harrison Lee
Harrison advises emerging and established brands on trade mark protection and strategy. Working with clients in sectors such as financial services, green tech, FMCG and fashion, he focuses on commercially driven strategies that support growth, expansion and long-term brand value.
Recognised by Legal 500 as one of only two UK-based trade mark attorneys in its “Leading Associates” category, Harrison thrives on the diversity of his work, supporting clients ranging from innovative start-ups to global multinationals. He understands that no two businesses are alike, and he tailors intellectual property (IP) strategies that reflect each client’s specific commercial priorities - whether that means designing flexible, cost-effective portfolios or implementing robust protection to safeguard reputation and market position.
Harrison’s practice spans trade mark prosecution, global portfolio management and strategic filing programmes. He regularly advises on complex objections, oppositions and infringement matters, with particular expertise in navigating contentious proceedings before the UK Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO) and coordinating multi-jurisdictional advice for international clients. Since 2020, he has co-authored Chapter 7 of the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA) and Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA) European Union Trade Mark Handbook: ‘Approaches to Countering Objections under Article 7(1)’.
In addition to his client work, Harrison is deeply committed to IP education. He provides trade mark tutorials to trainee patent attorneys, lectures at Brunel University London, Nottingham Law School and the University of Nottingham, and is one of five lawyers who lead the firm’s IP Summer School for clients.

How We Live Our Values: Collaboration
I learn as much from my clients as they do from me. Achieving commercially proportionate results requires close collaboration to truly understand their needs.
For instance, one fast-growing startup had the opportunity to expand into the EU, but was wary of potential brand and product naming challenges across countries. With limited resources for extensive trade mark searches and filings, they needed protection but also the agility to respond to infringement. We crafted a strategy around their highly original logo, offering flexibility for growth and allowing them to revisit broader filings down the line.
In My Own Words
I love meeting and working with my clients, particularly in person. There is something about in-person meetings, that cannot be replicated on a video call.
Whether it be to a field in Lincolnshire or hosting them at our offices, hearing about my clients’ businesses, getting to know them and seeing their passion really motivates me.
It also reminds me that, in some small way, I am helping their business to take a next step, making me even more invested in their success.
